Your life is full of magical moments that celebrate the connections you form with others.

My passion is capturing these moments, not only as a record of just how much you care, but to show you how you make those lasting bonds with the people in your life...

Behind the scenes on a Day in the Life session.

 Day in the Life Session

Day in the Life Session

pure documentary style

Day in the Life Sessions capture your normal daily lives together (i.e grocery shopping, meal time, bed time, etc...). There is absolutely no influence from me whatsoever. I will only shoot with the light provided and I'll be everywhere, including close-up, high (if I can!) and on the floor. These sessions aren’t meant to be “pretty” or “tidy”. They’re meant to tell stories. They’re meant to be beautiful in what they reveal about your relationships.

It means not worrying about what you wear or whether the kids have demolished their lego tower and pieces are all over the floor. It's about capturing your humorous, loving, chaotic reality.

There will come a time when your kids are all grown up, and you’ll want to look back and see the lego explosion that was your family room floor and laugh about the chaos in your life “back then.”

 Hourly Documentary Family Session

Hourly Documentary Family Session

Documentary with a twist

Hourly Documentary Sessions are based around activities that would be part of your ideal day. This style is commonly referred to as "Lifestyle Photography". My aim is to engage family members so that they interact with one another while not paying attention to the camera. These sessions are great for outdoor photos and ideal for anyone who wants to see natural moments evolve while enjoying fun times together.

Please keep in mind, I will ask you to choose some activities where you can connect together (baking, kites, picnics, balls) – anything that involves interacting with your loved ones.

More session info can be found here. I look forward to meeting you!

Say 'hello' to an easy, relaxing and memorable photography experience.

Day in the Life sessions document your family’s everyday life in your home and wherever you go. These sessions record all of the unscripted moments that make up your day - the good ones, the sweet ones, the hilarious ones, and maybe even tantrums... I will capture it all. :)  All you have to do is be yourselves! Your family is unique and wonderful right in this moment and these stages are fleeting. I want you to always remember them.

day in the life - Full DAY

During this 6 hour photography session, I tag along with you and your family for the day!  No planning, no expectations.  I'll capture the morning roll-out-of-bed moments, picking up your little ones from school, preparing dinner together and snuggly bedtime stories; there are lots of special moments to chronicle throughout your normal day.

day in the life - HALF DAY

This 4 hour photography session is a scaled down version of the full day.

Our photo session with her [Cassandra] was relaxing and natural. She blended into our family rhythms easily so as to capture us in an organic state. The photos brought out expressions and joy in our children that we never have had captured in the more stiff, posed photo shoots we’ve been a part of. The portfolio Cassandra created for us will be treasured for years to come.
— Ryan, Portland (Day in the Life Session)

This 1-2 hour session is based around activities that would be part of your ideal day. My aim is to engage family members so that they interact with one another while not paying attention to the camera. These sessions are great for outdoor family photos and work well for anyone who wants to see natural moments evolve while enjoying fun times together. Fifteen minutes will be allotted for formal (camera-aware) portraits and the rest of the time will be letting loose and enjoying each other's company. Bring things that you and your family can do together (ie. bubbles, kites, balls).  Please do not wear matching clothing, such as white shirts and khaki pants. Sessions are held at the location of your choice.

Cassandra has a way of capturing pure magic. She’s just lovely to work with and I highly recommend her!
— Jamie, Hillsboro (Hourly Documentary Family Session)

My focus for birth stories is to honor the emotions of this amazing process.  The photographs show the connections between you and the people in the room, different points of view, the involvement of your supporters (providing comfort) and any contextual details that happen naturally.  Please note that some hospitals will not allow recording during the moment of birth for legal reasons.

I will also stay for awhile after the birth to capture the moments of connection with your new family member, siblings meeting, feeding and [finally] resting.  If you decide, I can return the next day and capture visiting hour(s) in addition to when you take your new baby home.

This is the biggest honor and I am so appreciative to tell the story of such an impactful part of your lives.

I cannot express how thrilled I was with Cassandra’s ability to capture so beautifully my journey through the delivery and bonding moments. Childbirth is such an intimate, vulnerable experience yet Cassandra’s sweet personality and her ability to blend into the background removed any possible anxiety. It was a joy working with Cassandra’s pleasant personality and I will always be grateful for her excellent work!
— Brenda, Hillsboro (Birth Story)

My goal in a newborn session is to capture everything you want to remember about having a newborn—because this time goes by so fast!  Your new routine may consist of nursing or bottle feeding, rocking, time with siblings and lots of ooohs and aaaahhhss... Whatever happens, goes!  There will be no rush and no expectations. I’ll spend up to 3 hours photographing your family and include some casual newborn portraits, too.

Year in the Life sessions document all of the major turning points in baby's first year.  During this time, I will provide 4 sessions that capture your little one at each milestone...newborn, 4-months (lifting head/rolling over), 7-months (sitting-up/crawling) and 12-months (standing/walking).

special events

Every event is marked by its own special moments. I will skillfully capture this story and deliver portraits that you will find yourselves talking about for years to come.

Cassandra is naturally gifted in all things creative. She has taken pictures for 2 of my events. Both times, she was able to really capture the day. I don’t mean just take pictures, I mean capture the feelings and emotions of the people attending the events. Her pictures are real. I would recommend her for any function or life event that you want to capture for a lifetime.
— Erika, Vancouver (Birthday & Baby Shower)
